The Independent Remuneration Panel for Wales (IRPW)
The IRPW is an independent body responsible for determining allowances available to community and town councillors to carry out their duties (as well as county councillors, National Park Authorities and Fire and Rescue Authorities).
It is mandatory for councils to offer a basic allowance to all councillors to cover expenses, including printing and telephone costs. This is currently set at £156 per councillor per year.
