Monmouthshire Replacement Local Development Plan Revised Delivery Agreement, October 2020

Dear stakeholder,

Further to my email of 14th October 2020 providing an update on the Monmouthshire Replacement Local Development Plan (RLDP), I can confirm that the Revised Delivery Agreement (October 2020), which amends the project timetable and the Community Involvement Scheme as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and the recent publication of the 2018-based population and household projections, was approved by the Welsh Government on 30th October 2020 and is available to view on the Council’s website via the link at: https://www.monmouthshire.gov.uk/planning-policy/delivery-agreement/

Work on the RLDP will progress in accordance with the Revised Delivery Agreement timetable which sets out the following key dates:

  • RLDP Growth and Spatial Options Non-statutory Consultation: December 2020-January 2021
  • RLDP Preferred Strategy Consultation and Second Call for Candidate Sites: May-June 2021
  • RLDP Deposit Consultation: July-September 2022
  • RLDP Submission for Examination: early 2023
  • RLDP Adoption: Autumn 2023

Unfortunately, any representations previously submitted in relation to the original Growth and Spatial Options and Preferred Strategy are no longer valid as we are revisiting these key stages. You will, therefore, need to submit new comments at the appropriate time of the Plan process.

Candidate site submissions received during the initial call for sites (July – November 2018) remain valid. However, should you wish to progress a site(s) through the RLDP process, further details will need to be submitted during the rescheduled second call for candidate sites stage (May-June 2021) to assist us in assessing the suitability of sites for inclusion as allocations in the RLDP and site deliverability. We will keep you informed of future key stages of the RLDP process, including the new consultation and engagement arrangements.

I trust this update is of assistance. Should you require any further information please contact the Planning Policy Team – email: planningpolicy@monmouthshire.gov.uk telephone: 01633 644429.

Regards,

Mark Hand
